the reasons we don’t proselytize are more complex & include that we were usually forbidden from doing so on pain of death by our “hosts” throughout history—if they let us stay at all, they weren’t about to tolerate a challenge to the dominant religion.

i don’t want to hijack their very interesting thread, b/c i don’t think they’re wrong, but just— there’s so much to this, and the framing of “what the non-Jews don’t understand is we have this 1 reason” just didn’t sit perfectly
