Whilst many political staffers are on fixed contracts, doesn’t make it any easier for people. Especially when goalposts move. At least in 2015 we all knew when we’d be out of a job & were written to months before being told that there should be no expectation of continuation
Some people will be on general election contracts, some on other fixed contracts. It will be interesting to see what happens to the community organising unit who were a huge add-on in recent years to the tune of millions in payroll costs
Whether Labour win or lose the current staffing levels will undoubtedly come down and the hardworking staff (who are working day, night, weekends, 7 days a week) will pay the price.
