I keep seeing #Shadowhunters fans complain about AWAE potentially heading towards being saved. I can understand being frustrated, especially after so many other shows have been saved, but certain remarks really don't look good. Please realize that just because you don't watch +
this show, it doesn't mean that it's not worth saving nor that it's not an important piece of media. It's actually extremely well done and includes quite a bit of POC and LGBTQ+ representation, which is typically not featured in adaptations of Anne of Green Gables. It also +
explores the hardships and discrimination associated with being an orphan, economic hardship and differences in experience among social classes, the importance of found family, and other significant themes, all set against the backdrop of Prince Edward Island/Canada in the early+
1900s. It is a beautiful TV show, not just in content but in how it is visually shot. It deserves more seasons and has so much more story left to be told, including (from what I've heard, as I haven't watched Season 3 yet) one pretty significant loose end that wasn't completely +
wrapped up.

It isn't saved yet. The #Shadowfam knows better than most that nothing is guaranteed until it's actually confirmed on all levels, and an email from someone at a production company saying they want to look into saving it is in NO WAY a confirmation that anything +
will really be done. But whether it is saved or not, please try not to let your frustration with our show's situation turn into bitterness & contempt for another fandom and their attempts to save their show. A show that, while it may not matter to you, matters a great deal to +
them (and to many other #Shadowhunters fans who also watch AWAE).

We've had over a year to make our mark and let our voices be heard. They're just getting started. Let them organize themselves and fight for what they love. Don't hold that, nor their potential successes, +
against them simply because of our experiences. It's not the AWAE fans' fault that Freeform & Netflix handled the #Shadowhunters cancellation so poorly. It's not their fault that the production company that owns the rights is seemingly hell-bent on making sure it doesn't +
continue in any form. So please don't take it out on them. They're fighting for their show just as we fought (and continue to fight) for ours. That level of determination should gain our respect and support - after all, we know the difficult road that lies ahead, filled with +
exhaustion and heartache just as much as exhilaration, excitement and friendships forged in such conditions.

I really didn't expect to see comments that belittle the show and its fandom and I'm hoping that those will subside. Fans of AWAE are experiencing enough pain already +
without it being unnecessarily added to.
