Gonna do another PSA because this knowledge doesn’t seem to be sticking: Pete Buttigieg hired as his senior campaign adviser an operative who is infamous in NY for working for Dems whose primary goal is protecting conservative corporate interests in order to gain/maintain power.

Some of said operative’s favorite tactics are presenting the candidate as a progressive while working to block progressive issues, pitting different marginalized groups against each other to sow distrust and infighting, and sometimes straight up racist or anti-Semitic attacks.

If you have been following this primary AT ALL, these tactics should sound very familiar to you. Political organizers in NY know exactly what Pete is doing, and what it says about his motives, because we have seen (and fought) all of these tactics before.

So if you want to waste time debating whether his intentions are good or his suddenly changed beliefs are sincere or we should be engaging in civil debate with him you can go ahead, but I have recognized the dangerous enemy in our midst and I will be moving forward accordingly.

Adding a note to be crystal clear: the responsibility for this is entirely on Pete. He hired Smith to do exactly what she’s doing. It is his choice to run this kind of campaign, and to pursue power for himself at the expense of all else. This is about HIS character, not hers.
