Thank you for this info, Conor. It's unacceptable that Cyprus, an EU member, doesn't reliably make court docs available to the public.

I'm seriously considering flying out for the cross-exam. The prosecution's experts are propagating pro-rape rhetoric that requires correcting. https://twitter.com/Beyond_Contempt/status/1200476257215033344
I was depending on at least obtaining transcripts of this clown show of a trial. Without word-for-word documentation of what's happening, the odds of a miscarriage of justice have just increased exponentially.
I had assumed there was a jury. Is it the judge who's issuing a verdict in this trial? And is the trial taking place in English or Greek?
Ex. 1 of their pro-rape rhetoric: the dr's who examined the victim testify/insinuate she wasn't gang-raped bc they found no vaginal lesions & only light injuries on her legs. Anyone w/ a modicum of training knows physical injuries need not be present to indicate a rape occurred.
Anyone with a modicum of training knows victims often freeze up and "allow" the rape to occur for fear that if they fight back, they will be seriously injured or killed. Fighting back increases the odds you will be killed during the rape.
Imagine how that instinct to freeze up to protect yourself might override any instinct to fight when there are TWELVE men raping you.
In the US, doctors & nurses who perform sexual assault exams after an alleged rape are trained to know this. It's basic knowledge. In Cyprus, we apparently have doctors who were trained in the dark ages. Who are these doctors? Where were they trained? What are their credentials?
Where do they work? What are the statuses of their licenses? Do they have disciplinary histories? (Probably not; this is Cyprus.) How have they handled other sexual assault exams?
And where are the rape kit test results? Where's the pathology report? Have they been admitted into evidence or is the trial solely considering the medically unsound opinions of these two doctors?
Those results better be admitted or this banana republic court is going to be in serious trouble once the case goes on appeal.
Don't worry, I'm Cypriot. I can call Cyprus a banana republic. Because it is.
Btw: I am a trained sexual assault crisis counselor. One of my duties was to advocate for victims during sexual assault exams and police questioning. My training was provided by the LA police dept, LA district attorney's office, and medical personnel.
Based on what I've read so far and on my past training, it appears none of the standard medical, legal or police protocol has been followed in this girl's case.
Hello @MinJusticeCY. Please ensure there are full transcripts of these proceedings. I will be requesting them and expect to be provided with them without delay.
