when i’m visibly frustrated and someone keeps trying to talk at me, i say “STOP.”

i get increasingly angry and say “STOP” louder when they don’t listen (or only wait 30 secs before piping up again)

i’m trying so hard not to scream. i’m emotionally overstimulated.

i need space.
i don’t always have the words to express my emotions in those moments.

i can’t verbalize “please wait for me to calm down. it makes me upset to feel you aren’t listening to what i need right now. i need silence. i need a moment to collect myself.”

“STOP” is all i can get out.
each denied request for silence fills my brain with palpable rage. it hurts my ears.

i don’t want to say something i regret or lose my shit and yell “OH MY GOD, JUST PLEASE SHUT UP FOR A MINUTE. I NEED TO THINK.”

does anyone else get like this? i’m hoping i’m not the only one.
other variations of STOP include but are not limited to:

- “HANG ON.”
- “GIVE ME A MINUTE.”
- “JUST. WAIT.”
- “SSSHHHH.”
- “I NEED A SEC.”
- “NOT RIGHT NOW.”
- “AHHHH.”
- “HOLD ON.”
- “I CAN’T RIGHT NOW.”
- “LEAVE ME ALONE.”
- “PLEASE STOP.”
- “I NEED YOU NOT TO TALK RIGHT NOW.”
