2. The report is based on a task force that we convened that included many former officials who worked for Obama, Bush, & Clinton.

3. We found that Gaza is stuck in an ugly cycle. Hamas uses violence to apply pressure on Israel. Israel uses a blockade to apply pressure on Hamas. Egypt & the PA make things worse. The into community is uncoordinated & feckless. Palestinian & Israeli civilians suffer

4. We recommend the US: 1) do more to lead an international effort with Egypt & UNSCO; 2) take immediate steps on water, electricity, & freedom of movement; 3) push for a political solution that includes a long-term ceasefire & PA takeover of Gaza

5. Pushing these types of ideas is a much better mission for a pro-Israel progressive organization than arguing on twitter about whether or not what’s happening in Gaza is a blockade or comparing Gaza to Canada.

6. Because let’s be real. It doesn’t matter what you call it, the situation is Intolerable. & Canada does not launch rockets on Israel & the US does not prevent canadien people or goods from going anywhere in the world. So that analogy just makes no sense at all.
