Hoaxy shows three early nodes for Ivanka voting machines. Dan tweeted something similar this morning but it never really got any visibility. The other two accounts @siano4progress and @ann_cannon however both got significant amplification. #osint #infosec #elections2020

This Hoaxy graph shows how the "Ivanka voting machines" story spread out from 2 of the 3 nodes mentioned & continues to grow. The @ann_cannon seems most suspect. Even though Sergio tweeted 1st, his tweet "appears" to have only taken off early this morning. #infosec #elections2020

Both @MelissaJPeltier and @LouiseMensch were early to spot this Ann account this morning and question the dubious nature of the claim. thx to both of them & sorry if I missed anyone else. Of course the claim however continues to be spread like this account. #infosec #osint

Why does this matter? Like any good #disinfo campaign ...there needs 2b a tiny shred of truth. In this case the truth sliver is Ivanka MAY have gotten a Chinese trademark on a voting machine recently. Ive not seen the approval doc ..AND a trademark is NOT whats being alleged here

Oh and another reason why this matters. Take a look at this tweet from a few days ago. Its not in today's campaign but it is related. I believe this person is trying to use it justify McConnell's block on election security. Yes its ludicrous but it is our reality right now #osint

Looks like @WhyFactsMatter found another one from earlier in the week. Another one with no sourcing and 12k likes on an account that only has 2k followers. Wow I wish I could achieve that kind of engagement (without paying of course ). #infosec #osint #elections2020

I might add a Gephi network visualization graph over the weekend from the 20k tweets we collected 2day but basically these r the top 30 influencers around the "Ivanka voting machines" initial conversation. Its mostly these 4 nodes which are described in the thread above #disinfo

Today's event around the Ivanka voting machines #disinfo campaign gives me hope. People were really engaged & asked excellent questions. I frankly haven't seen this for a few yrs. We as humans have the ability to reason & use common sense ...lets get back to that ... TOGETHER!

Damn I missed this from yesterday. The number one emotion for voter apathy (staying home and not voting) is DISGUST!! One of Russia's primary objectives in its information war is to create division, disgust and hopelessness. New #disinfo research is confirming this tactic.
