1/5 #Sexualexploitation, harassment & abuse are a growing problem in #Kurdistan & affect many young women. These forms of abuse, or gender-based violence, are pervasive in every aspect of their lives - at home, at school, at work, in public, and on-line.
2/5 At all levels of society this has far-reaching negative consequences including severe #psychological, social and physical harm for the victims, and disastrous social, security, and economic impacts for families and broader society.

3/5 These abuses cause fear, and restrict women and girls’ mobility, limit access to education and work opportunities, and their participation in community and public life.

4/5 Much of the exploitation, harassment & abuse is done by someone the victim knows, trusts, or even someone whose care they are entrusted to. SEED is working to raise awareness of these problems to better protect girls and women.
5/5 By reducing their vulnerabilities, increasing their access to protective strategies to try to keep themselves safe, or access to protective services when they are not, and to strengthen family support and build healthier relationships. We need to act and #STOPabuse.
