In this thread we overthink Part 5 Stands and how it coincides with their user's issues:
GOLD EXPERIENCE [1/2]

Giorno's Stand can create life from inanimate objects. Having grown up friendless and neglected by his parents, his ability to create life could be how he deals with his loneliness. Also, he can't create people because he has a hard time trusting others.
GOLD EXPERIENCE [2/2]

Design-wise, GE is very expressive, as opposed to Giorno who's almost always fronting being okay. It's honest when Giorno is not. It has tear-streak-like designs when Gioro doesn't allow himself to cry.

Giorno wants love & attention and this is his Stand
SEX PISTOLS [1/2]

When we first meet the Pistols, they're telling Mista that they're hungry and want to eat. They're cheerful, they keep Mista on his toes. They kill but they're also very happy, simple babies.

Mista wants a simple life. That's hard for an assassin.
SEX PISTOLS [2/2]

Mista isn't taking care of Pistols. Pistols take care of Mista. They remind him to eat. They make him laugh. They make him react. They keep him from spiraling to depression because he can't have that simple life anymore after going to jail for murder.
STICKY FINGERS [1/2]

If Bruno has any regrets, it's probably not being there for his dad when he needed him. So what does he get? A Stand that can stretch, that can let him travel through portals, that can have him chopped into tiny pieces. A Stand that connects.
STICKY FINGERS [2/2]

So whether or not it's to help you or punch you in the face, Bruno gets a Stand that reaches out and connects. It's perfect for someone whose life whose spiraled and fell apart, and is desperately trying to pick up the pieces for himself and others.
PURPLE HAZE [1/2]

No matter what backstory you follow for Fugo, Purple Haze is everything he repressed. It's a Stand that lashes out, but it's also a Stand that's childlike and innocent. Haze is very open about his feelings and that scares Fugo.
PURPLE HAZE [2/2]

Fugo tries his best (and mostly fails) at being the logical, mature guy because he's afraid of being taken advantage by his feelings again. And here's Haze being all extreme feelings and self-depreciation

It's pent up and immature, but also highly defensive.
AEROSMITH [1/2]

You know what Aerosmith is good for? Searching. Tracking others down. Because people keep leaving Narancia's life. His mother? Dead. His dad? Distant. His "friends"? Betrayed him.

Narancia's social and he likes being with others.
AEROSMITH [2/2]

Aerosmith's abilities are also highly tactical, which shows that Narancia's smarter than people give him credit for.

Also, the eye covered by Aerosmith's scouter is the eye that got infected, an illness that he got from his mom. Aerosmith is family.
MOODY BLUES [1/2]

It's good for investigation. It's also a manifestation of Abbacchio's inability to forgive himself. It can replay things because Abbacchio's still haunted by his partner's death and the memory won't leave him alone.
MOODY BLUES [2/2]

While Abbacchio is the most physically strong Bucci gang member, Blues can't fight. Abbacchio is the type who won't fight for himself, and will gladly sacrifice his own life if it's for the mission. He doesn't need a Stand that fights.
SPICE GIRL [1/2]

When Trish got kidnapped, she toughed it out. She kept herself guarded. She thought that was strength. But staying that way could break a person.

But Spice Girl shows that softness and the ability to adapt is a kind of strength too.
SPICE GIRLS [2/2]

Her sentience is also a connection to her father, who also has a split soul (though his situation is more complicated). Spice also prevented her from being like her dad because unlike the very obedient KCrimson, Spice is outspoken and assesses the situation.
That's all for now unless you want a 10 page manifesto or something hahaha
