Thread: A few extra thoughts on Bears-Lions...

1. After an early shock and continued flirting with danger, the Bears took care of business on a short week, on the road, against a divisional opponent. They're 6-6 and, based on the Club Dub video, excited for the final month.
2. Mitch Trubisky had his best game of the season yesterday. He made a few mistakes, including an egregious INT, but he rebounded well and was money in the fourth quarter. Hats off on a strong performance. Let's see if he can build on it against tougher opponents.
3. The offensive line has been rightly maligned this year. But they played very well yesterday. Run blocking was strong and pass protection was quite excellent. Cornelius Lucas, who had a miserable pre-season, has filled in nicely for Bobby Massie twice now this year.
4. The Roquan Smith sack and Eddie Jackson INT will make the highlight reels. But two unheralded defensive plays yesterday that can't be ignored:

- Kyle Fuller's TD-saving tackle.

- Nick Kwiatkoski's almost-INT PBU on the final drive.
5. Can anyone convince me that Taylor Gabriel should still start when he's healthy? Apart from a couple illegal block penalties, Javon Wims just continues to make plays when called upon. And how about Anthony Miller burning his coverage the whole game? Play the young guys.
6. Shoutout to David Blough for a truly impressive game in his first career start. He was incredibly poised, moved in the pocket well, and delivered some accurate throws. Credit to Darrell Bevell for getting him ready. Since the Bears won, I can admit, that was fun to watch.
7. One thing that concerns me is the leaky run defense. The Lions ran for 105 yards (without Kerryon Johnson) and routinely had a strong push up front. With Dallas and Ezekiel Elliott coming to Soldier Field next week, that has to get corrected.
8. I keep finding miserable morons complaining that the Bears "barely" beat a Lions team starting their third string QB. The same people would light their homes on fire if the Bears lost. You can't have it both ways. Feel free to sulk about a win, but life is too short.
