and I can tell you this for free
For Starters:

1. Money is important, don't let anybody tell you otherwise

2. The rule is sufficiency, not adequacy
can the pay take care of your basic needs? and still give room to save a little, then that's okay
3. Get into a good and active law firm, it doesn't have to be large or fancy, don't be superficial in your choice.

4. You are not at work to make friends, avoid office gossip, throw yourself into the work, learn excellence and stick to it, it will speak for you in years to come
5. Ask questions, and ask again. Never assume

6. Please! Don't insult your clients, no matter how unruly they act

7. Take advantage of the facilities in the office to improve yourself. The PC, internet access, library etc

8. Don't join the union in your office aka complainers
9. Say no to comparison, stick to your lane and do a good job

10. Know when your time is up and leave honourably
