Have you ever wanted something so badly that it drives you day and night till you have it?

And when you finally get your hands on it, a strange feeling comes over you...

And you realize you didn't really want that thing after all

Then that self-same sickly desire goes and attaches itself to something else?

And the whole thing starts all over again

The bottom line is that God's creation glimmers like gold...

And God's creation is good.

But God's creation will never take God's place.

The creation cannot replace the Uncreated.

A little perspective can go a long way this Christmas season.

If we get this confused... our covetous idolatry will leave us utterly miserable.

We are not what we own.

Because the day will come when all you own returns to the Maker.

What will bring us true joy this Christmas season?

Running from store to store will keep us busy but will add nothing to our happiness.

Go with Jesus and love with the love of God.

Don't sweat the stuff that doesn't matter.
