Better quality images of what I am refering to in previous tweets. #StandardHouseholdRate was bad enough. #EnhancedStandardHouseholdRate BTW, there will be more information sessions soon in regards to this nonsense, none are fully open to recipients. https://twitter.com/OneManFaction/status/1199799242744848387">https://twitter.com/OneManFac...
When asked (by me) if these sessions will be open to recipients, the response (in a nutshell) was only if they are involved in an invited antipoverty group or accompanying a community partner who was invited. DCS also said they would be communicating info to...
recipients re: #StandardHouseholdRate. My guess (although I cannot be quite sure) is that this pamphlet is the communication to recipients. I also have the opinion that the information sessions amount to little more than a way for the department to dish out info (which....
is already out. Advocates have been hearing about #StandardHouseholdRate for quite a while) to the recipients, so that DCS doesnt have to meet with the recipients personally.
Take a look at this image. Absent from the pamphlet are any reference to the former rates or the actual dollar amount of the increases. The actual increases are $10 - $40 MAX. @NS_DCS sure has lofty ideas for $40.
Also conspicuously missing are the cuts to transportation funds, which happened when @NS_DCS rolled the annual bus pass (which they ever so oddly say that is still in a pilot phase, yet is here to stay??). People were using those funds for other needs. https://nsadvocate.org/2019/10/27/your-welfare-transformation-isnt-helping-me-tim-blades-speaks-truth-to-power-at-meeting-with-community-services/">https://nsadvocate.org/2019/10/2...
THESE PASSES ARE NOT FREE! They cost the tax payer $21 a month and they cost recipients either $20 or $78 a month, and they are a big reason why some are worse off for this #ESIATransformation
