This article on Mayor Pete is pretty revealing for several reasons. What sticks out most to me are the older white people saying, "He reminds me of my son."

Also, I find it interesting how national media fawn over Mayor Pete for getting white support and his lack of support amongst blacks isn& #39;t targeted as a major negative.

This is not even a knock against Mayor Pete. It is all about a media ecosystem that undervalues black people and their feelings about politics.
That said, I do think Mayor Pete has run an excellent campaign and has had a very consistent message for the base he values.
