Funny thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I was hanging out with a friend of mine that has very little online presence. This guy is so offline he thinks Facebook is still "where it's at." 😂

Anyway, I was reading a thread online, the one about foreigners in Nigeria.
I believe the thread was by that Odanz fellow. He was talking about how indigenous businesses often need a "foreign touch" to establish credibility with the Nigerian consumer market, so businesses will often hire a fake white male front man to win work and the trust of customers.
There was one comment in the thread I didn't agree with, but I agreed with about 95 percent of the thread, yet I found myself nitpicking that detail I didn't agree with and was about to reply to challenge that one specific point.

My buddy looked at me like I was crazy.
He was like, so in this ENTIRE thread which you agree with, you're only going to reply and likely antagonize this person just to point out that you disagree with one minute detail?

His comment made me realize that this is what social media communication style has done to us.
It feels like we're more attuned to seek out things to disagree with, rather than learn and encourage learning. This is further reason I'm going to take a long hiatus from active presence here. It is actually becoming detrimental in subtle ways I haven't even realized.
