On risk: risk is often understood in terms of risk to delivery or risk to professionals & orgs, not risk to society and to people; e.g. risk of UC is seen as compromising pace of rollout or cost of implementation, not risk of increasing arrears, homelessness, use of food banks
On the power of collaborative leadership: systems change is not possible without involvement of multiple actors and perspectives, in the process as well as the outcome
On leadership: leadership as an activity that can be done with or without formal (or even informal) authority. No point saying ‘we need to get the CX onboard’ or, ‘I wish xx was our CX’ - have to make progress given your reality
And - need to look at future of leadership, incl. changemakers beyond formal orgs
On collaboration: Importance of experimenting and learning together. Importance of allowing emergence, learning
On workforce implications – relational working, comfort with complexity. What does this mean for workforce as a whole? Is a new skillset needed overall? Focus on system behaviours
