From today, I and many other Staff Grade & Senior OTs in Ireland will be removed off a national recruitment panel that we interviewed for in 2016, meaning that we won’t have the opp. to apply for HSE permanent jobs. There is no plan to reinstate a new panel (not that we want it)
Even if a new supplementary panel was introduced and interviewed for, I and those interviewed in 2016, would be placed at the bottom of this panel (before those who applied post-2016, mostly new grads).
Since 2016, I have completed a Masters (with distinction), worked in a Central London Hospital, a Specialist National Rehabilitation Setting, and am halfway through my PhD. This experience is irrelevant.
@SimonHarrisTD please make this madness stop. @IT_HealthPlus @paulcullenit @IrishTimes @Independent_ie @LeoVaradkar
Twitter, every RT is appreciated!
Also need to highlight that the panel debacle is not limited to Occupational Therapists.. also applies to Physiotherpaists, Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists etc. etc. @_ISCP_ @iaslt @PsychSocIreland
Would love to highlight this to the media if there are any contacts out there? It's an invisible national healthcare scandal that many outside of allied health aren't aware of. @joelittle54 - I had the pleasure of meeting you at @AOTInews study day earlier this year. Any ideas?
@paulreiddublin please take note of this not fit for purpose process. It’s impacting 1000s of allied health in the HSE (and who want to join the HSE) as well as patients accessing HSE services. Would be happy to discuss at any stage
Ok all.. an interview with the Sunday Business Post is in the works!!
Newstalk added to the list!!
Hi all - trying to get in touch with an @_ISCP_ Rep. @RuaidhriOConno1 @gemda @iscp_pd I'm trying to touch base with someone if there's interest in contributing to upcoming media interest I've had.
@murraymuse would @trust_indi be interested in getting involved?
