Today, in the Manitoba Legislative Assembly, Premier @BrianPallister announced that the 2019 Grey Cup Champion @Wpg_BlueBombers will be invested into The Order of the Buffalo Hunt.

Established in 1957, Manitoba’s Order of the Buffalo Hunt was originally conferred on people who, though not necessarily residing in Manitoba, were “known to be kindly disposed towards Manitoba”.

Prior to the establishment of the Order of Manitoba in 1999, The Order of The Buffalo Hunt was the highest honour the province could bestow on individuals who demonstrated outstanding skills in the areas of leadership, service and community commitment. 3/5

In 1999, The Order of the Buffalo Hunt was reconfigured for achievements in sports & public endeavours. It is accompanied by a certificate, signed by the Premier & sealed with the Great Seal & a buffalo statue with a brass plaque. It was awarded to @MiltStegallTSN in 2007.

Interesting facts:

The Bombers were invested into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt in 1957, 1984 & 1988 for Grey Cup (or Western Interprovincial Football Union) victories. The most recent recipients were the Team Manitoba medal winners from the 2017 @CanadaGames.
