I don't get triggered by the truth. Nigerians are attracted to fast money and ill gotten wealth. It's the only way to give yourself a great chance of survival in this shit hole. It didn't happen because Boris Johnson said it, we did that on our own.
David Camron said we're fantastically corrupt and that's an assumption i agree with.

Donald Trump said we live in a shit hole and that also is fact.

Boris Johnson says we are attracted to fast money in unhealthy ways. Also correct.

Not pissed at them for saying the truth.
The people who represent us to these people aka politicians are fantastically corrupt, create shit hole environments, and are attracted to ill gotten wealth.

This people don't meet the average hard working honest Nigerians in their day to day work.
They meet politicians who represent all these things they say about us.

But we can't absolve ourselves of all the blame too. Our society is a reflection of the cumulative of behaviour of the people who exist in it.
Why is truth shocking?
Why is facts racist?
Why are you offended when people say the truth about us as a people.

First of all I'm an individual, therefore lumping me together in a group is not descriptive of my person.

They are not talking about me, I can't take group offence
When they address us as a society though. They are right. The average Nigerian when he gets to a queue immediately starts scheming on ways to jump it. He sees everyone standing standing there patiently as people who are not sharp.
Small wait let another car pass, you'll transform into James Bond and drive until the entire road is blocked for hours.

If anything does not affect you personally, it doesn't bother you. All the people living in IDPs are none of yourself business until Boko Haram comes close.
Nobody goes into any deals open hearted anymore because they know they'll get taken advantage of and there's no system in place to protect them.

Police officers rob people in daylight and nothing happens, to them its a quick money scheme.
Entrepreneurs can't launch successful businesses because the government is trying to shake them down.

I can go on and on. We live in a dishonest society, so why do we get offended when people describe us as dishonest.

Are we not dishonest?
My advice to you as a Nigerian?

Focus on yourself and stop worrying about what the image of Nigeria is.

Silas Adekunle will walk into any tech firm and get a job, him being a Nigerian will never factor in. His expertise as a professional will.
Chimamanda Adichie has publishing companies all over the world fighting for a publishing rights. She's a Nigerian too. Her ability as a writer and being well respected person is what they want.
When Wilfried Ndid is discussing a new contract. No one will say "well you know he's a Nigerian, let's pay him less". No! His ability as a footballer speaks for itself. Him being a Nigerian will never stand in the way of his professional opportunities.
Rise above the "Nigerian" tag by working on yourself.

Get competency, horne your skills; be an expert. Let your skills speak for themselves.

There are Nigerians all over the world doing great things.

Nobody will care where you came from if you can give them what they need.
Stop feeding on group guilt.

Focus on yourself as an individual!

You come before Nigeria.

Wizkid sell out shows abroad. The people buying the tickets don't say they won't buy because he's Nigerian.

Become a person of value and being a Nigerian won't matter.
Entrepreneurs world over will pitch to Tony Elumelu for his money.

He's also a Nigerian.

You're a Nigerian but you're not Nigeria.

Work on yourself.
How did i forget Isreal Adesanya? Even New Zealanders want to claim a dark skinned man despite him not having any of the physical features common to people from that geographical location. He's Nigerian tho, but he's Israel Adesanya and that's more important.
Work on yourself brothers and sisters.

Nigeria will be fine.
