Today,

We stand in solidarity with native organizers in New England as they hold their 50th National Day of Mourning in solemn remembrance of the brutal genocide of millions of native people when colonizers invaded, stole land, & tried to erase all traces of native culture.
While on Thanksgiving our elected officials can calmly enjoy their time with family, this “holiday” reminds the native community of how they are ritually ignored and mistreated.
@SenJoniErnst’s version of the Violence Against Women Act threatens the native community.

Not only do she & the GOP want to leave the boyfriend loophole untouched, but also destabilize indigenous communities by removing protections from the 2013 bill & threatening sovereignty.
We stand in solidarity with indigenous people on this painful day, pledging action and support for peace and justice for their communities across the nation.
