/6 Due the costs involved and the way that the pay deductions will all hit at once, I've only done one day of picketing @leedsucu this week. It was great but exhausting (not least because I am like a ping pong ball). So, this is about the other stuff I've done, plus some honesty
/6 I've spent the day with an old friend who I've kept cancelling on due to being pooped/busy, I've spent an entire morning in bed feeling ill, I've gone on 2 little and 1 medium run. I'm just back from a horse ride. Tom I'm going to see another friend and finally making time
/6 for an overdue physio trip. I've done a fair bit of sorting and each day taken my son to/from nursery in a relaxed way that has meant that we've had quality time together doing stuff (like making cake). That's all good, but I don't feel relaxed. I've had anxiety dreams each
/6 night. I'm starting to get really tetchy about lost work time and I'm downright angry about some stuff. I'm cross with the selfishness of some senior staff, I'm hurt by and in disbelief at an email the uni sent on the eve of the strike. I'm sick of the 'vocation' rhetoric.
/6 this is a job - you should be able to like (much of) your job without your labour being taken for granted. We should - students, staff and employers, embrace our mutual needs and invest in each other's wellbeing. Dammit that idea of a zero-sum game really gets to me.
I could go on, but I won't. So here are some pictures of some of the good things that have come with this week. A final and epic thank you to students who have sent messages of support. You give me hope and that is priceless.
