Despite an overall increase in secondary trainees (although target missed for 7th year running), this mis-match is bad news

Big deterioration for shortage subjects (% recruited vs target):

🧮Maths - 64% (⬇️ from 70%)
🇫🇷 MFL - 65% (⬇️ from 88%)
🧪 Chemistry - 70% (⬇️ from 80%)
Increasing over-recruitment in other subjects:
🧬Biology - 166% (⬆️ from 153%)
🏰History - 127% (⬆️ from 101%)
🌎Geography - 119% (⬆️ from 85%)
📘English - 110% (➡️ from 111%)
