Thread: An example often cited as an argument against feminism, is that men fair worse in family court/custody battles than women. But what& #39;s missing from that? *Why* the bias exists, & where from.
It& #39;s implied this bias against men must be feminism& #39;s fault. Let& #39;s look further..

2/ A study done of 619 judges & 504 laypeople showed that in identical cases, the *judges* were more likely to give mothers more time than fathers. Laypeople still skewed more in favour of mothers, but significantly less than judges.
3/ The reasoning for the judges heightened anti-male bias ( and keep in mind most of the judges are MEN themselves. Not women. )
""The more they supported traditional gender roles for men and women, the more parenting time they gave to the mother in the case."
How interesting..

4/ Rather than feminism being to blame for this anti-male & anti-father bias, one that contributes to the destruction of 2 parent families -- it may be the *opposite*. It& #39;s often MALE judges who believe in traditional gender roles, who are the ones discriminating against fathers
5/5 in family court, *because* of belief in traditional gender roles.
Next time someone cites anti-male bias in family court as an argument against feminism - While we all need to talk about the bias more - don& #39;t be so quick to blame feminism on this one https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/04/180419141541.htm">https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/...
