I once saw a quote from Ho Chi Minh after the soviets delivered old captured German weapons, saying this rubbish belongs in a museum. Cant find it anymore and probably not a real quote but anyways heres Nazi era German arms in Vietnam. French first brought them, MP40s/MG34s
ive seen french military pages talk about the legion shooting 45k rounds from a MG42 at Dien Bien Phu but havnt seen any real evidence. Soviets then delivered a bunch of old german weapons. Lots of MG34s used in AA configs and last pic is them destroying old MG34s after the war
North Vietnamese forces with MP40s, US with a MP40, FG-42, MG34 and DShK
oops thats US giving Montagnard fighters MP40s. Then you have another US soldier test firing an StG-44. Another weird one are these Czechoslovakian modified 98k that they didnt like and dumped into N Vietnam along with regular ones
This collection of weapons captured from the Viet Cong could fill a wing of a museum now days. US M1919s, Brit Brens, Soviet DPs and a German MG34
another capture of some super rare guns by US Navy special operations in 1964. German mauser C96, LAW, MP40, Madsen M50, Swedish Carl gustav M45 and on the far right the small batch US special ops Colt605B
Australia has some good captured weapon archives too. 1944 Moisin Nagant, 1953 PPSh-41, TT33,
Chinese Type 56s
