idk how to say this w/o sounding like A Big Douche so please assume the best in what i'm saying...

probably a thread coming up here.

there's a modern phenomena of being in the spotlight simply for working for a company that makes things people like.
For me it's been between HQ Trivia and Discord that I've experienced it but for many others it's their entire career. When you work for a place that has passionate users and a community, people will try to insert themselves into your life.
They try to start conversations in your twitter threads between friends, they DM you for help/a job/to just try to befriend you.

It's a weird place to be because it's hard to differentiate whether or not people are even being genuine.
Are people being your friend to get something from you or for clout? Or did the notability of your company just amplify you to community and people actually like you?

Sometimes you're too tired to figure it out. Especially as someone as anti-social as myself.
So I guess I'm just saying that if you don't get a response, or you get responses sometimes and not others, please understand that you might just be sort of forcing yourself into someone else's life. Overfamiliarity from a stranger is exhausting.
So yeah, it sounds kinda douchey, but it's a reality for people who used to be invisible. Companies have public presences now and participating in that in any capacity puts you in the sights of a very large range of people who want your attention.
