For all the times someone asked me this in an exasperated tone; All the reasons I ask so many g*ddamn questions

- I& #39;m missing some assumed social knowledge
- You said a thing that has 2 possible meanings. One is much less likely than the other but I still have to ask /1

- You told me everything I need to know but I have so much baggage from years of nasty surprises that I& #39;m worried I missed something anyway
- My question isn& #39;t strictly necessary. I& #39;m just anxious and it& #39;s a call-and-response thing that makes me feel better. /2

- Things between us seem pretty good so I& #39;m taking a chance & asking a question I was too scared to ask before
- You gave me the information most people would need, but I can& #39;t process or remember it well unless I can fit it into a big-picture framework, so I need more detail /3

- I suddenly zoned out in the middle of what you were saying and I don& #39;t feel like I should say that, so I& #39;m covering up by acting like I& #39;m just clarifying, when really I& #39;m trying to piece together what you even said.
