Hi, are you a biotypical friend or family member of a chronically ill person? Do you have a temporary illness or injury?

Please remember that the chronically ill person in your life is not magically able to do more things than they were before your illness or injury!

[thread]
I know it may be frustrating they can't help you more, but please remember that they may be entirely unable to do more, or there may be long-term repercussions if they do!

So please 1) don't get upset & 2) if you're able to, make sure they don't feel pressure to overdo it.
Their ability level doesn't suddenly scale up if someone else's temporarily scales down! A lot of the time when this happens, chronically ill people feel a lot of pressure to step up, even when they know doing so will make them significantly sicker or have more pain, etc.
If at all possible, please try to think of options, arrangements, or other agreements with your person in advance so you have a plan, especially if they're in a flare already! Like can certain household tasks be put on hold, is there someone else who can do it, etc.
If you appreciated my words here & you're able to, please consider throwing some cash my way so I can live my best Disabled life w/ my cat friend, Pillow
