A righteousness that is specific to God is revealed from faith to faith. Literally we receive God’s righteousness through faith

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

God’s wrath is revealed against all unrighteousness and ungodliness, which we are all guilty of.

Romans 1:32 also says people who practice ungodliness and unrighteousness are deserving of death.

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Christ died for the ungodly, who chapter 1 says that God’s wrath is revealed against and they deserve death.

We rightly deserve death, we are enemies of God, and worthy only of wrath. Yet Christ died. God’s wrath still falls on our ungodliness and unrighteousness but those who have faith in Christ, Christ receives the wrath and we receive His righteousness through faith
