The violence poc and women face can be so unpredictable, so random, so arbitrary, so deliberate, so underhand, so surprising - a Muslim woman accosted in a cafe and bashed for sitting, a woman killed for walking home who 'rejected' a man, a white 'ally' who steals your work.
We are over-protective and wary, and agile and attuned and hypersensitive because we have no idea how your power and rage will be visited on us in overt and covert ways - the violence of both white society and patriarchy. And then an obliviousness and denial it ever happened.
Any help identifying behaviours and personalities and power dynamics that prevents this violence is necessary. It's necessary for our lives. ps this is not my 'opinion' though can be illuminated through thousands of personal experiences - this is evidence based.
