I have to say, this comic by @beatricemossman is superb. You really should buy it. Beautifully written and illustrated, a story that anyone who has ever felt out of place or conflicted could empathise with https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/739071236/the-lure-of-the-flesh-comic-beatrice?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=beatrice+mossman&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1">https://www.etsy.com/uk/listin... https://twitter.com/beatricemossman/status/1197566544588488706">https://twitter.com/beatricem...
The paper comic is unusual in its proportions but the space is used wonderfully to provide mini-panel dramas and juxtaposition whilst providing an overarching illustration and allowing the protagonists thoughts to shown fully
Nice little kids-book-style cut-out panels on various pages provide an interesting contrast to the adult themes in the book, as well as providing fleeting glimpses of what may be to come or what has already been.
And the central spread, the point at which the story ramps its emotional ascent towards resolution, is just stunning. The form and style of the comic reminds the reader of Emily Carroll but the comic has a clear, distinctive voice and hand.
