By day I work to stop human trafficking with Let My People Go ( @LMPGnetwork ). I started doing this work a few months ago because I was inspired by @RaleighSadler during @vox_con 2019 & after reading his book Vulnerable: Rethinking Human Trafficking. I believe in LMPG's mission.
I believe that churches and other faith organizations are ideally suited to take part in the effort to stop human trafficking because they are called to serve the broken, the vulnerable, their neighbor, the stranger, and the sojourner.
Helping the vulnerable means being willing to be in relationship with those who are broken. Their lives may be messy but then so are our own. To be in relationship with the vulnerable you need to be willing to be vulnerable with them.
It is in that moment of being vulnerable with one another trust happens. It becomes possible to be honest with one another and to know that neither is perfect or better than the other. We are equal and we can help one another.
Think about joining us in fighting to stop human trafficking in all forms. #Istandwiththevulnerable
