I said this yesterday on stream, but it's worth repeating. This week may be about family, but your family is who you choose it to be.

If your blood/surname relatives are good loving people you enjoy, then bask in every moment this week with them.
But for many, bloodlines are full of selfish, cruel, or even violent people who do not value us or the things we believe in.

You are not obligated to put up with someones hate or disrespect just because of blood ties. You are worth so much more.
If anyone over the holiday doesnt respect you, or even doesn't respect and treat others with the level of love and empathy you value, it's ok to call them out, or even cut them out of your life.

Family is just a word, the value of it is who you consider as *your* family.
Family can be your friends. Your partners, or even just a group of people online who share your interests and values.

Do not let holidays compromise that by putting unjust value on shitty people just because they sit in your family tree.
The world is too vast and has far too many souls in it to subject yourself to those who don't respect, value, or acknowledge you and your views.

Make this holiday about you and yours, blood or not. None of us are bound to such things over "tradition".

Take care of yourselves.
