We used to have: Man and woman were formed differently by God and made to complement each other in their union.

Let's work backwards.

1st, we said they weren't formed by God.

New sentence: Man and woman were formed differently and made to complement each other in their union.
2nd, we entertained the idea that they weren't made for each other. Then celebrated that.

New sentence: Man and woman were formed differently.

3rd, we said men and women weren't *really* different.

New sentence: Man and woman were formed.
4th, without the sacred cause and the reasoning for it, we decided the categories weren't that important.

New sentence: Man & women were. (Past tense)

Now we find ourselves scrambling to explain the differences, why they're important, when it all used to be clear & just true.
You can be on board with any, all, or no parts of my logic. But regardless, this is how it snowballed.

How easily we take for granted the things that are given... only to fight mercilessly to regain what we so willingly let slip from our fingers.
