#SinaUna: The Bird
This week I& #39;m talking about the Celestial Eaters in our world, and today I& #39;m going to talk about the Bird. This particular Celestial Eater originates among the Bagobo people in Mindanao.
Today I talk about Minokawa.

Today I talk about Minokawa.
Tambanokua resides in the earth, Arimoanga jumps between the earth and the sky, Tambanokano and Bakunawa hide in the oceans.
But Minokawa, the island-sized bird, hides beyond the sky, on the eastern horizon.
Among all the Celestial Eaters, he is one of the most spiteful.

As the story goes, at one point, it did swallow the moon. But the people below, scared and panicked, screamed so loud that it caused him to look down to question what the sound was, which let the moon escape it.
For this, it began to travel and haunt the earth.
For this, it began to travel and haunt the earth.
One day, when its journey ends, it will come back for the sun. And it will lay in wait, and seize the moon. And then it will turn its eyes to the mortal races, and devour them all.
The mortal people wait for it to try once again to scream and make noise, to shock it again.

We don& #39;t often get descriptions for Celestial Eaters, but Minokawa is troubling in that it the most described of all of them.
Its eyes are mirrors - blank and full of light. Its beak and claws are like steel. And its feathers, each one, is a sharp sword.

Minokawa is only one of the Celestial Eaters in Filipino lore and in Sina Una, and we hope the tales of it will inspire all manner of dreadful and terrifying stories if you use our book.
Or, if you& #39;re of a certain persuasion?
Minokawa spares you, once you make it your patron.
