I encourage all Africans to watch “13th” to understand some of the things AAs are enduring in America. The ignorance is getting out of hand. And I believe it’s because many of us lack knowledge surrounding AA history and don’t care to learn. Please watch and educate yourself.
Many of you are QUICK to call AAs ignorant but my guy, these are ALL products of inter generational trauma and mental colonization. Of course when you’ve been beat down and removed from your original identity , you have negative feelings towards who you TRULY were.
Do you know how lucky we are as Africans to be able to point to our country , our tribes and say yes. That’s me. That’s my culture. That’s where I’m from. Always saying AAs are ignorant but we don’t understand that they negative ideas of Africa has been ENGRAVED into their minds.
Please give AAs some time! They were literally RIPPED from their original lands , had to work for people in a whole other country and were given 0 rights and in many ways still have NO rights. They created their own new identity in a place that was never made for them.
I’m just tired of Africans coming on here and pointing the ignorance finger at AAs when many of us have 0 clue of the true history AAs have endured. Mass incarceration, social discrimination, environmental racism , hyper surveillance.........
Please. I’m encouraging for MORE education and LESS finger pointing. Are some AAs ignorant about African culture ? Sure. But don’t forget they were taught the SAME things about Africa as white people were. So in many ways , they’ve been brienwashed to hate their OG identities.
