Over 3 years ago, @soniailie and I got funding from @baicenews to organise a thematic forum on #ChildRights at @CamEdFac. We wanted to bring different voices and edgy approaches to thinking about children's rights theories and practice, so... (2)
I contacted @DrFranZanatta, whom I have never met before but I knew thanks to @Twitter and I invited her to present. Her presentation was BRILLIANT!

Fast forward a couple of months after the Forum and, again thanks to @Twitter, I found a fantastic paper that @jkgillettswan wrote. After following her, I realised she had a call for chapters on #ChildRights and submitted a proposal. Again, we have never met. (4)
So, as it happens over #AcademicTwitter, we shared information, memes and personal experiences from our work on #ChildRights.Eventually, in 2018 we came up with a project that is very dear to my heart @ChildRightsChat and that has been an absolute blast to co-host with them! (5)
And before I forget, a special shout out to @JenneferTBG who was the one who encouraged me to think about the potential of #TwitterChats as part of her module on Public Communications for @VitalVoices #VVLead Fellowship. Jennefer, you are an absolute ⭐️!!! (6)
For months now @DrFranZanatta, @jkgillettswan and I have been hosting @ChildRightsChat. In the processes, we have learned so much thanks to our guests and to the followers of the chat. I honestly think the #ChildRightsChat crowd is one of the best communities on Twitter. (7)
So we wrote a paper together on what we have learned on @ChildRightsChat so far as a space for #RightsEducation, we presented it at @ecer2019 and most importantly, the three of us hang out IN REAL LIFE for the first time since it all started. (8)
I consider myself quite lucky for having @DrFranZanatta and @jkgillettswan as friends. We have been together through tough times, happy times and everything in between. They have had my back, make me laugh and listen to me more times than I can count. (9)
My overall lesson on #AcademicTwitter is that it can be a fantastic space full of opportunities: to meet new people, to establish collaborations, develop new projects or write papers.

Also, if you are lucky, you will end up with more than academic rewards in the process. (10)
