Instead of binge watching a series this holiday week/weekend on Netflix try a marathon coding session or setting up that new side project or business idea you have.

Your Goal: Ship something new by Sunday night.
Use tools like Rails (especially JumpstartRails or BulletTrain) to remove the initial burden of users/payments/etc for web projects or even API's.

Use tools like Flutter or React Native to ship an app for both platforms at once.
There's no better time to ship something and build something. The tools are all at your disposal.

Just execute.

Don't let your ego get in the way and say "I only write Android in Kotlin" or some limiting mindset like that (unless your goal is to only target Android, etc)
There's a lot of confusion here. People think I'm telling them to work their hands to the bone and not take time off. That's not the case. I find much relaxation and zen and learning and building new things.

To me, that's how I recharge.

Learning and action is what drives me.
If your goal is to binge watch a new series on Netflix, then do that. That's your goal.

If it's to play with your kids, then do that.

If you're not doing anything else, don't waste your time on mindless activities. See it as an opportunity to grow. Mentally, technically, etc.
I have zero problems with relaxing. I think it's necessary for everybody.

We all have the same 24 hours.

It's about how you prioritize it. There's no fault in prioritizing family, relaxation and time with friends.
Hell, maybe you don't want to write any code. That's totally fine... I've been there many times.

In fact, there's been many times I closed my laptop on Friday and don't open it until Monday.

I might just read all weekend, or journal, or do something in the garage.
The thing is, I like to use my time to push myself forward in any way possible.

Self care, self help, reading, learning, writing, journaling, etc.

There are so many ways to grow.
It could be you want to build a treehouse with your kids. Hell yes, do this. Turn off the TV and go do that. Or go paint with them, do something useful. đź’Ż
