A thread on @netanyahu
I’ve appreciated and will always be grateful for the tremendous effort, sacrifice and accomplishments of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Israel would never be in the good financial and security standing it is today without his great achievements.
1/7
Our country and people will forever be in his debt.
We have reached the end of his government career. Whether it’s a month, a year or five years, the end is near.
The Prime Minister is not ending his career with the dignity and graciousness that his legacy deserves.
2/7
He should walk away a hero, feted for what he has given the State of Israel. But he is spoiling that legacy.
By claiming conspiracy and coup, by calling the justice system corrupt and by undermining the government, he is tarnishing Israel’s reputation and destroying his own.
3/7
When the attorney general made his announcement of impending indictment, we felt Netanyahu should have his day in court. We don’t know if he is guilty or not. But with his outlandish charges of corruption at the highest levels, Netanyahu has made us chose.
4/7
Either he is corrupt or the system is corrupt. One thing is clear though, according to our Prime Minister & attorney general, something in our beloved Israel is corrupt.
That conclusion has left us, the Israeli people and its advocates, disheartened, depressed and depressed.
5/7
We are also angry. We shouldn’t be made to think this way about our country and its government.
Prime Minister Netanyahu should take the high road. He should act with dignity and gracefully vouch for the attorney general, the justice system and the police.
6/7
He should declare his innocence and declare the he looks forward to proving his innocence in his day at court.
He should end his impressive career by leaving the people of Israel with a feeling of pride for our country.
I hope he rises to the occasion.
7/7 End.
