I've unintentionally distanced myself from Twitter these last several weeks.

There have been quite a few reasons for this.. Some to do with work and life changes, others to do with my sheer annoyance with the ongoing Trump situation, and still others to do with the fact...
... that I just need a break.

I have a lot to say over some of the more recent ongoings. I just haven't figured out exactly how to (or how I want to) frame it all just yet... So, for now, I will just say this:
In the world of politics, things tend to have multiple layers.

For instance, Trump focuses on Biden. This could be because Biden is the only candidate that Trump is worried about, or simply because Biden has more/less held the lead.

But it could also be because...
.. it is a convenient attack point that shifts the conversation from substantial conversation on other things, such as policy.

There is also the late entrance of some candidates which, regardless of their position, sincerity, or lack thereof, shows that there is concern...
Over the direction that some policies may go. And, no, I'm not saying that there should be concern or that those policies are wrong or bad...

But it leads me to the next point.
I've spent a long time working for the Government. Between active duty in the USMC and working as a civil servant, my entire adulthood has been "working for the government". And while I won't get specific about a lot of what I do, or have done.. I've dealt a lot with policy.
It doesn't make me an expert, but anyone with experience in this area knows this.

Policy changes, whether it be corporate, internal, state wide, or national wide... The changes tend to move slowly.

This is largely because sudden shifts often...
... fail to address unknown situations, opposition, or backlash. Whenever possible, you try to maneuver the general position of individuals in the direction of your planned long term policy changes.
This may mean "educating" individuals, or slow but steady steps in the right direction. Or you might luck out and everyone is in favor maybe even just trusts your decisions.
I'm not saying this because I want you to worry about policies being proposes, or raise the alarm that "maybe we are moving to fast".

I'm saying this because there is one thing we are not focusing on.
We are not focusing on policy.

Policy is why we keep winning. Policy is why we should win.

I'm not saying we shouldn't address what Trump is doing or has done. We should, and that's what is happening.

But if we can't explain what we will do beyond that. We don't have a chance
