Many people ask me *why* laws are being passed based on hostility toward religion—even when plainly unconstitutional. @ccpecknold has a helpful take. 1/ https://twitter.com/ccpecknold/status/1199300074372845570
A disregard for God-given freedoms, and a forceful usurpation of the laws to impose new secular theories of “justice” based on invented “rights” that serve the interests in power. 2/
This approach depends on activist judges willing to bend the Constitution. Only by judges remaining anchored in the Constitution can our freedoms remain intact and the legislative persecution of people of faith fail. 3/
The tireless, even increasing, efforts to silence and punish people’s religious beliefs seem to bank on a judicial branch willing to join the progressive movement toward secular “justice.” 4/
And because we’ve seen too many courts willing to cast aside religious liberty in order to advance a secular cause — sometimes even falsely calling the secular cause a “fundamental right” — it’s not too surprising that state and local govts would keep trying. 5/
