There's an affinity and admiration that I have carried for Martial Artists and their films since I was three years old- weather it was @EyeOfJackieChan , Sammo Hung, @DonnieYenCT , Van Damme or Bruce. Been watching Ip Man again for the...40th something time and need to ramble
There's the idea of the superhero, legends that can overcome great trauma and physical feats- these men and incredible women (Rothrock, Yeoh, Janin, Oshima, Ziyi, Pei-Pei) are the closest we ever see to that and they are awe-inspiring
Not just for the acting or the thrill of it all but the fortitude ,ingenuity and sheer creativity of what they can do. Theres a rhythm and amount of sacrifice about their disciplines that captures the imagination in the most humbling way- realisation of potential and all that
It's hard not to become a fan between the charisma, stunts, raw technique and choreography or stories around them. Personally their work lights my soul ablaze, relishing in the visual spectacle of their craft and experiencing what makes each of them unique in the MA genre
