About to start :Re, so I’m doing a mini-thread on the top reasons I love Tokyo Ghoul . TG has a lot of interesting things that make it really good so this is just a small list of things I enjoyed after finishing yesterday
All of TG’s main/side characters feel like they all have a goal. This made the story enjoyable because their character arcs feel just as important as Kaneki’s development. So when the story moves away from Kaneki, it still remains interesting
Touka is such an important character in TG. Obviously her backstory and character growth makes her important , but she also exemplifies the definition of perseverance like so many characters in TG do. One of my favorite characters and a big reason Kaneki grows as a character
Amon is one of my top 3 favorite CCG characters. Considering the trauma from his childhood, he is a motivated character who attempts to understand Kaneki. The parallel with Kaneki really made me enjoy the nuance of the story which shows there are great people in any faction
Juuzou’s development is the reason he’s my favorite character in TG. Because of his antics, many ppl look down on Juuzou, but in the end of TG even his peers say he’s the ideal “investigator.” To me, Juuzou is the embodiment of TG’s themes: tragic, persevering & always growing
