okay can y'all just. accept that some ppl don't want to be called "queer" and that's fine? why is this such a big fuckin' deal that y'all are gonna write off legit trauma to reclaim it? you don't HAVE to say "queer community." "lgbt+ community" works fine too. christ.

some ppl don't wanna be called "gay" either. personally, i am not a member of "the gay community," and i would not want to be referred to as such. i'm a member of the lgbt+ and/or queer communities. but some ppl don't want the latter applied to them. and that's FINE.

i keep seeing this "if queer was a slur then so was gay" and like. yeah. depending on your individual trauma, it can totally be used as such. it's unfortunately somewhat dependent on intent in cases of reclamation. why can't we just. respect that?
