Anything known by tradition has some kind of location or culture markers attached, some way of saying Where it was ancient. Anything derived from another thing has some system of interpretation interposed between source and practice.
Yoga is a tradition from the Indian subcontinent. Easy, there it is. Westerners importing the practice try to make it self help rather than religion. Boom, an interpretive lens. Enneagram...can anyone say where it's actually from and how long it's been there?
