Imagine a 6-year old girl already been betrothed to someone even before the Prophet’s marriage to her? Cud it just b possible? Since it was a no from the family of Aisha (RA), she then went to Sawda n she agreed to the marriage. This was the Makkan period, before the Hijra.

In the meantime, Abubakr (RA) went n checked with the family of Jubayr, but since they were Mushriks, n since Abubakr (RA)’s family became Muslim they said they were not interested in da marriage anymore. So, that proposal became void. Since there was a proposal pending. . .

Researchers opine that “ten” was perhaps omitted in Aisha (RA)’s age in the narrations. This means that the ages in question would be 16 and 19, and not 6 and 9.
Reality is that Prophet (SAW) would have married Aisha (RA) at least when she was 19 years old.
