Thread: Tips for anyone wanting to start a service-based business. How to land paying clients – Fast!
You don't need a website, logo, IG following etc. to get started. You waste time and $$$ trying to get things to look perfect. You need to know ASAP if your business can solve a specific problem and make money doing so. The fancy stuff comes after. Here's how you do that:
When you're just starting out, focus on getting your solution directly in front of the people who have the problem you're trying to solve and are ready to do what it takes to get their problems solved.
Customers like these don't care about the nitty gritty or all the bells and whistles that come with your service. They just know they have a problem that is causing anxiety, stress, fear etc and need to get rid of that feeling.
To convert a potential client into a paying client, it's really important to understand fully what's causing your client pain. You can't afford to make assumptions about their pain points or spend time creating a service based on what you THINK their problem is.
AFTER you identify their problem, pitch your solution. When pitching your solution, focus on showing your potential client how your solution will help them go from "A" to "B". (Which means you MUST know where "A" is for them.)
When it comes to paying. Make it EASY for them to pay. You don't want to leave time for doubt and fear to set in when they were so excited about finding a solution to their problems.
Understand that you're not going to convert every prospect into a customer. With every pitch, you should get better and better at showing prospects how your solution addresses their exact pain points.
Can't stress this enough, focus on the people who are ready to take action when you're just starting out. You want to turn prospects into clients ASAP and deliver excellent service so that they can leave a great review or refer you to someone else.
Don't waste time chasing prospects who aren't ready to take action. Even if you do convert them (which takes a ton of time) they may not be your ideal client and may be draining to work with. Not what you need starting out.
