1) I shared on Instagram from a page a pic with some verses by Parveen Shakir in #devanagari script. A Pakistani friend immediately asked me to delete it because the poetess wrote in urdu and so I should have shared it in Roman transliteration or nashtaliq.
2)The problem was according to her that we should not allow Hindiwalas to think that Parveen is adjustable to "Hindi culture" and Urdu loses at it. I was so struck by this view of her. I answered that poetry travels through the languages and scripts, and in this way many people
3)from Hindi sphere can appreciate Urdu poetry and even be open to the perspective of studying it starting to study script and so on. In this way there is much circulation of texts and poems, not only from Urdu to Hindi but vice versa too.

4) I remember buying like 4/5 books of poetry in Chandni Chowk in Delhi: I can read them in 3 scripts all included in the book: Roman, Hindi and Urdu with explanation and synonyms from Urdu to Hindi. I love them!
