Here’s a quick thread on my thoughts regarding the three main routes of FE3H to summarise what I feel is at the core of each path. Spoiler heavy, my own personal opinion, and probably liable to change. It's also posted as screenshots because it's over 1k words long. Oops?

All three lords have both an external struggle and an internal struggle, and overcome these in their own ways - that’s what gives each route its unique feel. Most importantly, though each lord wants to better the world, their ways of achieving this is quite different.

I’ll start with Azure Moon, the route I’m most familiar with. (and here's where the screenshots start)

Now, onto Verdant Wind, which I know perhaps the least about.

Lastly, Crimson Flower.

This thread has made me realise, more than ever, how much I need a route where all three lords are able to work together.

Imagine Edelgard realising she could work with Claude instead of TWS to bring down the church. Imagine Dimitri and Edelgard reuniting as stepsiblings and working together to build a world where the weak are protected. Imagine the three of them bringing down all their enemies.

I'm genuinely tempted to write it myself, the more I think about it. For someone who hates writing long fics, I sure have plenty of ideas for them. And not a lot of time.

At any rate, the game in its entirety is, in my view, a story of how the same war and the same goal can be viewed and achieved in very different, often conflicting ways, and it’s certainly an interesting exploration. No one character is wholly right, and no route is entirely bad.

And that's another night of procrastination over! I do have a brand new fic to post in the morning - I was supposed to post it tonight but got a bit distracted. Feel free to add thoughts/ideas, just don't yell at me please. Unless it's good yelling.
