Man City constantly looked for the diagonal ball wide but Azpi sniffed out almost everything. He knows the opposition and knows exactly how to read their play. Intercepting in midfield and giving us a better position to play from.

Mendy constantly tried to find Sterling but Azpi was glued to him. Sterling was tightly marked by Azpi throughout this match and did not allow him any space to breathe.

Azpi was alert to second balls and made sure City did not get a free ride on his side to counter. Instead he showed determination to intercept the ball to initiate another Chelsea attack.

Once again Mendy tried to find Sterling and Sterling is not allowed to live a free life!! Look how quickly Azpi senses that Sterling needs to be closed down. It's instincts here kicking in. It's his prime defensive qualities kicking in!!

This time Mahrez tries to find Sterling cross field but once again Azpi pounces on anything that is slightly mistimed. Watches the play closely and has an immense focus on the game. Realises a chance for interception and takes it!!

Epic closing down and last man defending here. Kudos to Kepa as well for a brilliant save to keep the score at 2-1 and allowing Chelsea to stay in the game.
People want Reece and that's justifiable but Azpi is a great reference for Reece in terms of defending!
